What do you want to do?
As a finance employee, you work for the entire Mobility Department. This department works with large budgets. We are looking for an energetic person who forms the bridge between the Mobility Department and the Finance & Control Department. When investing public funds, the department’s consumption is monitored. You identify and analyze problems and developments and process them in suggestions and reports. You support (proactively) in making operational and tactical decisions in order to achieve the desired program results. You help to prepare the budget for the department where policies are made, implementation programs are managed and you advise on projects in the project management office. You are the contact point for tactical matters in the financial area for the controller, management and employees in the department. You have a lot of contact with the employees and you easily switch between strategic and operational level. In your work, you have an eye for the administrative environment and further processes. In this position you have space to give substance to your work in your own way. Your work is varied and different every day.

It is a versatile feature with a wide range of tasks. For example, you are responsible for supervising the correct and complete processing of data in the financial administration. You prepare periodic reports with adequate management and accountability information, including management reports, quarterly reports and financial specifications. You also help set up and improve financial processes, administrative organization and preparation of work instructions or procedures. You also support policy officers, program and team leaders in assessing financial statements, preparing interim reports and budgets. You have periodic discussions with controllers, (program) managers and support staff about the financial status of the projects and programs.

What are we asking about?
We are looking for a proactive and collegial colleague who is analytically strong and financially oriented. You work carefully and precisely. You are someone who knows how to stimulate and excite others. You are politically sensitive and you have a sense of proportion. In addition, you are able to understand, improve and simplify financial processes, and you are not happy with the statement “we have been doing this for years”. You have good communication skills, both orally and in writing, and you are solution-oriented. Of course, you are excellent with numbers and results-oriented, but you also have an eye for the story behind it.

In addition, you have:

  • HBO work and thinking level, supplemented by relevant professional training in accounting, business administration or bookkeeping;
  • experience with (local) public finances and related laws and regulations;
  • experience in preparing financial advice and reports;
  • good knowledge of Excel;
  • knowledge of Oracle eBS and OBIEE is a plus.

What do we offer?
As a fiscal policy employee, you have a comprehensive and responsible position in a specialist department. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the further professionalisation within the Urban Development Department, the Mobility Department, and you will be able to make full use of your talents as a consultant. This is a full-time position and you can count on:

  • a minimum wage of € 3,701 and a maximum of € 5,372 gross per month (salary scale 11) based on a full (36-hour) working week; Adjust to S11
  • a fixed-term employment contract for a period of 12 months with a probationary period. In the event of good performance, there is the possibility of an extension or employment contract for an indefinite period. If you have an employment contract with The Hague Municipality indefinitely or you are entitled to an employment contract indefinitely in connection with the chain provision, you retain your employment rights;
  • a 36-hour working week, with room to build up compensatory leave.
