Invertek Drives, an innovator and manufacturer of frequency converters, is expanding its German operations as part of an investment in the DACH region, the company announced at the Hannover Messe in Germany.
The company opens new offices in Markt Indersdorf, near Munich, and has appointed a new distributor for its Optidrive series of VFDs and associated engine management technology in Germany.
As part of its growth in the region, Invertek also made two significant appointments. Guido Lowitsch is appointed as Sales Manager and Guido Kerzmann as Senior Technical Manager. Both have extensive knowledge and experience in the VFD and engine management industry. Klinger and Born GmbH has been named Invertek’s national distributor in the region.
Over 600,000 VFDs
This follows the announcement earlier in May of a significant investment in its Spanish company, Invertek Drives Iberica. This comes after the unveiling of a £ 10 million expansion at Invertek’s global manufacturing facility and headquarters in Wales, UK, to increase capacity to produce more than 600,000 VFDs a year.
Shaun Dean, CEO of Invertek Drives and Senior Vice President of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., the parent company, said: “Since Invertek was acquired by SHI in 2019, we have continued to invest in its growth. Over the past two years, we have experienced “significant global growth with record-breaking entry. Germany and the wider DACH region are an important market for us in Europe. The new offices near Munich, two major appointments and a new national distributor support our strategic approach in the region and globally.”
Technological advances are needed
Rhydian Welson, Director of Sales and Marketing, added: “Globally, Invertek Drives continues to be a widely recognized brand for high quality, durable and energy saving engine management technology. In a world where more and more energy saving technology is needed to combat climate change “We will see further technological advances in efficient motor control. Invertek will lead the way through continuous innovation, research and development to create some of the most advanced AC drives.”
The expansion has already started
The £ 10 million expansion of the production facility and a new application center at the global headquarters in the UK have already started. The application center will be used to showcase Invertek’s products to potential and existing customers and to train sales, technical and maintenance personnel.
Investments will also be made in expanding the innovation and research and development facilities. New R&D laboratories have already been opened in the last two years, including a dedicated engine room and a test and validation center.
SHI’s continued commitment and investment in Invertek Drives
The investment is driven by Invertek Drives’ parent company, Sumitomo Heavy Industries Ltd (SHI). It is a sign of its commitment to make Invertek a world leader in the development and manufacture of world-class variable frequency drive technology since 1998.
Invertek Drives was launched in Welshpool in 1998 and has grown year after year since then. Its international headquarters, R&D department and production facility are located in Offa’s Dyke Business Park, Welshpool, UK, where the company employs more than 300 people.
The company employs more than 340 people worldwide. It has sales and service partners in more than 80 countries.
