What do you want to do

The Relationship Management employee works to manage, process and deliver information from the alumni and relationship management system. An important part of the position is also planning and coordination of all activities that the Relationship Management Department performs for Relationship Management. The position works with the relationship management system The Raiser’s Edge and a task administration in TOPdesk.

There is a lot of collaboration between the various teams in Bureau Alumni Relations and the University Foundation (BAU). As a Relationship Management employee, you support this collaboration and actively participate in projects that BAU implements.

While the name may suggest otherwise, this attitude is not about direct contact with the university’s relationships, but about handling the data of those relationships.

BAU has been through a long period of forced mainly homework. We will partly continue this and start working hybrid: partly in the office, partly externally. We believe it is important to continue to have adequate opportunities to meet each other physically in the office.

what do you take with you

You are precise and conscientious. You can maintain a good overview and you are comfortable dealing with. The following characteristics apply to you:

  • customer and service-oriented attitude;
  • careful, systematic and with a keen eye for detail;
  • analytical, responsible and enterprising;
  • broad social knowledge and interest;
  • knowledge of or affiliation with the university organization;
  • experience with automated data processing is a plus (eg Excel, TOPdesk).

In addition, you have:

  • excellent oral and written command of Dutch and English;
  • several years of relevant work experience;
  • HBO or WO level.

What we offer you

We offer an employment contract for a period of one year with a probationary period of two months, preferably with effect from 1 August 2022. A permanent employment follows with documented suitability. The employment is 32-38 hours per week.

Your salary is, depending on relevant experience at the start of employment, € 2,710 to € 3,619 gross per month, scale 8 based on a full working week of 38 hours. This excludes 8% holiday and 8.3% year-end bonus. That Agreement for Dutch universities applies.

The Office of Alumni Relations and University Fund at the University of Amsterdam is responsible for UvA’s alumni policy and fundraising among alumni and friends of the university. Policy development and implementation in these areas takes place in close collaboration with the Amsterdam University Association (AUV) and Amsterdam University Fund (AUF) Foundation† Bureau Alumni Relations and University Fund (BAU) is the primary point of contact for all alumni and private donors at UvA. More than twenty people work at BAU.

As part of BAU, the Relationship Management Department maintains a database of all alumni, donors and relationships at the university. Data from this database are used for policy information (relationship management, alumni policy, selection of candidates for boards, advisory councils and events), fundraising, member and subscription administration, and for broadcasts to alumni and institutional relations.
