Mendix, a Siemens company and global leader in modern enterprise application development, has expanded its partnership with Capgemini, a leader in consulting, digital transformation and technology. The companies jointly develop and deliver industry solutions based on the Mendix low-code platform. Mendix and Capgemini have been working together since 2011 on various solutions for the insurance industry in France, the Netherlands, the UK and the Americas.
“As the leading global partner in helping companies transform and operate with the power of technology, Capgemini has extensive opportunities and resources for the insurance industry,” said Jethro Borsje, Chief Ecosystem Solutions Officer at Mendix. “The company understands the strategic impact of low-code and how insurance companies can best leverage the technology to optimize their operations and customer experience. Together, we build and deliver solutions that make the sector more efficient.”
The pandemic has forced insurance companies to become more digital and flexible. However, there are still important challenges, such as providing better customer experiences and automating processes. Insurance companies generally still work with various systems that are not integrated and customer friendly. Some providers have managed to build relationships with customers and gain insight from various data sources. With customizable templates and solutions, they can digitize processes much faster.
“At Capgemini, we strive to build flexible, scalable and secure solutions for our customers with the most effective partners,” said Kiran Boosam, Head of Insurance Innovation at Capgemini. “The Mendix platform is widely recognized as a market leader in low-code, and together we have delivered several tailor-made solutions to customers. It is therefore natural to combine our synergies, standardize our approach and speed up the implementation roadmap. ”
Two solutions for the insurance industry
Mendix and Capgemini have created two low-code solutions that streamline and digitize insurance processes.
– Direct to the consumer (D2C)
We live in a more flexible and web-based society. As a result, many insurance companies are changing the way they interact with customers and offer online interfaces. The D2C solution is a framework that enables insurance companies to quickly deliver customer-centric insurance solutions with a positive customer experience. Custom screens provide flexibility to adapt the interface to current market opportunities, so that the same framework can be used for pet insurance, warranty, personal liability, etc. A responsive omni-channel approach also allows the bidding process to continue via email link if customers use the tool across multiple devices.
– Work table for property and accident insurance
Underwriters expect their employer to offer digital tools that make work easier, such as gathering insights from many different data sources to make an insurance decision. To do this, Mendix and Capgemini build connectors that connect different, different data sources so that the data is accessible from one control panel. The Mendix platform also enables insurers to implement robust and advanced applications up to ten times faster than traditional coding.
Specifically, Mendix and Capgemini are jointly developing an “Underwriting Workbench” that connects front-end experiences with back-end systems such as Guidewire, enabling insurers to better manage tasks, workflows and tasks. It is also possible to get a 360-degree customer overview and feature-based views for insurance companies and various departments.
“The benefit of these solutions and the partnership with Capgemini is that insurance companies can quickly offer differentiating products and improve the insurance process,” says Ron Wellman, Head of Industry Clouds at Mendix. “This is crucial to working more efficiently and improving customer satisfaction.”
